The Avenue I Take

The skys reflect the very being of the pain I bear and all its meaning.

I'm again alone on this road I choose to continue to wonder

Tears refrain from forming as my prides' will withholding the one thing my father left me with

"Men don't cry"

But as I wonder down and slowly realize I hate to ponder such irrelevance while I wonder

It keeps me in that place I hate to be

... and I have no one to blame but me

  1. Sean, thanks for sharing. It is strong and moved me.
"And as a single tear trickles across my face
I move beyond my father's place
    Forgiving him and me
Now I know I'm not to blame
I'm free to leave the place I hate"
