The Night She Met Her Maker

She sat in the room at the far back of the house. A room that was all too familiar to her at this state. She met her sister at the bar table with a glass of red wine while her sister stared at her with a reluctant enticement of hostility.

Though the room dawned many different colors of joy and happiness; she sat in black and white with only her glass to bare a live color. It was time to tell her sister the truth.

Soothing music made little to no difference in Sofia's facade. Her favorite artist weaved tapestries of melodic beauty to her ear and yet, she remained still.

" This is my favorite song. I love how she sings. " she tells her sister, Julie.

It was in fact Julie London's rendition of Cry Me a River that played in the room.

" Julie .... it's here. And the truth it, it's always been here and I can't make it go away. I'm telling you this in hopes that you'll understand and know that no matter what happens after tonight, I'll always love you. "

Julie began to tear as Sofia's word ripped at her senses. Each word tears more than the latter.

" Sofia , please. What happened ? " she begs

Sofia's stare went vivid as life seem to sink back into her for a brief moment. Call it a " Last Request of Fate " if you will. She took a sip of her merlot as Julie kept swinging. She spoke:

Julie, it's there. It's here. It's everywhere. No matter what I do, what I say or how much I try;  I can't get it to stop. Last night, when I was out with Paul; she was there. She wont let me go Julie. Every time I tell her to quit it seems to get worse. Even when I run, she follows. When I hide, she finds me. There's nothing I can do anymore. "

Sofia begins to tear as her confession flows like water to her sister; whose confusion and despair for her siblings has quickly transformed to anger.

" Sofia! What are you talking about? Who is she? Why is she following you?!"

Sofia's head drops to her hands violently and her wine is knocked to the colorful table; quickly changing from its vibrant red to a dull black liquid.
Her tears flow from her once deep blue eyes. Fear has taken the room for there is another amongst them

Her

Julie stares in awe at the sight above the table. Morphing into form from the ceiling as bit by bit of its body drips into the previously spilled wine.

Manifested is Julie's past, come back to claim her prize. Sofia screams but silent she remains as Julie London keeps singing in the room.

She grasps both Julie's shoulders as she bids her to stand with her. Sofia, stiff with terror, watches them both shift motionless towards the wall.

A final breath of her last words sneaks as Julie London ends

" I'm sorry. I love you."

She's gone

Her story is told

Sofia's begins
